To all friends of Basset Hounds,
Lisa Ritchie from Basset Buddies asked me to send this out to all the club members, former members and friends of basset hounds that I could think of. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. You can reach Lisa at bbr-mn at comcast.net.

"BBR is in desperate need of foster homes. We have 3 dogs at the kennel in Blaine (Stone Mountain Pet Lodge) with no opening foster homes in the near future.
Can you possibly email the folks in the club (and even others you know who might be interested in helping) to see if ANYONE would like to foster for us - even on a one-time deal??
OR - we are always looking for folks to go to Stone Mountain to help visit the dogs that are there. We go up there everyday if possible and walk them, interact with them. Just give them love.
Here are the dogs we need help with right now:
Fred & Lucy - an ADORABLE and gentle bonded pair. Fred is about 3 - 4 years old and Lucy is closer to 2 1/2 - 3 years. Both will need a little nudging with the house breaking - but they are not having accidents in the kennel. We also have a double crate for them if anyone is willing to give them a try. Fred is Heartworm positive and undergoing treatment so he needs to be kept quiet. He is closer to the end of the treatment so medical risks are at a minimum at this point. Their info can be seen at http://www.bbrescue.org/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=2
Spike is an older guy who needs to be placed in a home with no kids under the age of 12. He is a big boy who will do best with someone willing to say "no" to a basset. He was recently returned to us when he snapped at the 6 year old - but got along wonderfully with the rest of the family. Does well with other dogs, too. He is listed at http://www.bbrescue.org/gallery/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=19
The final one is a hard case for us right now. His name is Copper. He was terrorized and abused by the previous family so is very fearful. He DOES have dominance issues. He would do the very best in a home with maybe one of the quieter dog and a calm atmosphere. We do not have pictures of him right now. Poor guy has been at the vet waiting for a foster home to open that will be appropriate.
We have more dogs coming in. I am taking in a 10 1/2 year old that the family basically got tired of. Well, there are other little issues but the little things seem to be mounting up for the family.
I'm hoping we might be able to connect with someone! I so much appreciate your help!!
Lisa R"
